A collection of the best pictures from my portfolio.
The Sound of Silence
.....the calmness within.
"I existed from all eternity and, behold, I am here; and I shall exist till the end of time, for my being has no end."
-Kahlil Gibran
The Altar
This was a church I found whilst I was in Lake Como. Its about a 40 minute train ride from Milan and is a great trip to take for the day.
City of Lights
In midst my busy month, I managed to squeeze a visit to the city that never sleeps. I gotta say its one of the most amazing places I have ever visited and can't wait to go back there.
Needless to say its a very photogenic city, so to start off this new set, here is an image which you will probably have seen a million times before, buts its grandeur and splendour will never cease to amaze.
The Daily Planet
Cocktails
I sat....I ate...I drank
Eiffel Storm
This is my final shot of the Eiffel Tower and I managed to capture this on another cloudy day.
Although it was supposed to be the summery season, I hardly saw the sun during the 4 days that I was there. Most of the time it was either raining or just freezing cold.
Gothica
As the sun sets....darkness falls...
The Cavern
Taken deep within the Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia...well actually..not really that deep. ;-)
This was the first time I had been into any kind of cave or cavern properly. The atmosphere was really amazing and throw into the mix hundreds of people here for thiapusam, then it really amplifies the whole mood.
Recently in Dudley, England, there has been an ongoing project to make some famous Black Country mines/caverns accessible to the public. From the stories I have heard and rare pictures that I have seen it sounds/looks amazing. I am currently trying to arrange to be taken down there to take a few snaps...I will let you know how I get on.
Invasion of the Eggs
I found this cool looking sculpture in the Eden Project
Spaceships of all shapes and sizes
Here is a much wider shot of the whole Eden Project complex. You can see the different biodomes here...the furthest one away is the Rainforest Biome with its tropical temperatures and the nearest one is the Mediterranean Biome.
The porcupine style windows building in the foreground is known as The Core and its full of weird and wonderful things.
It took me an absolute age to get onto the roof and had to overcome all sorts of tricky obstacles such as security guards and locked doors...nah I'm just kidding really. ;-)
Grand Entrance
Grand Central Terminal in New York sure is a photographers delight.... I must have taken about 100 or so images there during the one hour tripod permit I had.
Oozells Square
The atmosphere in Birmingham City Centre, England can be superb at night. As I walked around Brindley Place, I found small cafes and restaurants scattered in midst the office buildings, each with their own architectural style and ambience. A lot of them are situated nicely along the canalside...a wonderful setting for a meal.
The aroma of good food soon started filling my nostrils, so off I went to grab a bite to eat.
Pray
This is an image of one of the interior rooms in the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York. Definitely a place to visit ,as it is awesome in there and believe it or not they are still renovating most of it. This is the image I go through in my HDR tutorial. You can find the tutorial here.
Metropolis
Its fairly tough trying to get a decent night shot when on top of the Empire State Building in New York. Its hard to use a tripod up there with the limited space, but they also have zig-zag fencing going all the way round which makes it tougher.
Nonetheless I spent about an hour or two up there taking shots, weaving my way in and out of the masses of crowds.
