Abstract Expressionist, Julianne Richards, paints mostly with acrylic on canvas. Her latest additions to her collection are just a hint at what is to come in th esecond half of 2007. She can use colors that alternately sooth and stir the viewer. A near "visual intoxicant," her choices of colors, lines, definitions, bring forth imagery that draws you in, and can stay with you long after you have seen the work.
Now, if this work should have an affect relative to the one above, don't you deserve your own print?
Acrylic on canvas, 30"x30" with 7/8" depth. Gallery wrapped, back-stapled linen canvas, finished with a UV protective gloss varnish. Certified of Authenticity by EBSQ. For purchasing info: http://www.yessy.com/richards
Another one of the several paintings I have produced this past week-it's title was going through my mind with each brush stroke, every line, and semi-circle. Finally, standing back from it late last night, I was melancholy yet grateful at the same time. No quick fix can take away what life's curves that cause pain will do, but in that uncertainty of a world that can seem at times cruel and without purpose, I have the only reprieve I have every known, creativity. It is, for me, the only thing that is certain. Acrylic on canvas 30"x30" 7/8" depth. Gallery wrapped, back-stapled, sides painted, and ready to hang "as is." Finished with two coats of UV protective gloss varnish. This painting holds many emotions and was made with intense purpose. It is a reflection (one can only hope) of movement, change, the silence, the HOWL, and somewhere, within the tones and curves, is me. For purchasing info: http://www.yessy.com/richards

When I was in second grade, we managed to build an elevated "treehouse"-which became, for the local girls in our mostly' boy dominated neighborhood", a sanctuary of magical proportions. We could see all three streets and where they came together-from our secret meeting place, and it served us well, until, like all good things, they (the local boy bullies) discovered it and it came to an end...but for that wonderful and scary innocent time in our lives, it was our mansion, a FORT, our refuge. Acrylic on paper, 11" x15" with a UV gloss varnish.

Charcoal and some light acrylic paint on heavy paper -18"x24" I used a fixative to keep charcoal/pastel from smearing. At the end I put on a gloss UV protective varnish for shine and to add longevity to the peice as a whole. A truely unique and inspired peice from my collection. COA certifide-Ebsq.
This is part of the 2006 charcoal series, and they all look beautiful matted and framed.
Charcoal on 15x20 rough paper- done in 2006, but just added in March of 2007. It has a protective fixative to prevent smudging of the charcoal-and to set the piece to a finish with a soft shine. It is regstered with EBSQ for verification. Certificate is included with purchase. This piece is part of a series I did, and they have sold as prints and every client was very happy and have all purchased more after (particularly ths piece and its series) they got it home and it was on their wall.
This is my favorite peice from a series I did of oil pastels in June of 2007. Original is not for sale. Limited edition prints are available for this very special painting that is really best appreciated closely, preferably larger in format, so as to see every detail and nuance, of which there are many.
This is another acrylic on canvas-24"x.75"x30" in size. Back stapled and sides painted, it is a premium gallery wrapped canvas. I picked earthy rustic tones and applied them with a wide flat brush, sometimes blending the colors, sometimes just focusing on the stroke of the brush and the way the paint, thick on the brush, spread across the canvas. Later-added some pastels, and blended them quite a bit. I also softened the colors. You can see the lighter re-working of the painting quite clearly.
Acrylics on 18"x24" heavy paper-textures, gold, red, and turquoise tones make this peice my latest favorite. Needs to be framed-but definitly worth it!
Acyrlics on 18"x24" heavy paper-COA from EBSQ. Finished with UV protective gloss varnish- Original, quality peice. A Gem!
Textured abstract painting with acrylic paint and mediums to create a "sculpted" piece. It is on 9"x12" heavy paper, and finished with UV protective gloss varnish.
