I have long enjoyed painting flowers and when I returned to painting after taking several years off I decided to paint floral images exclusively for a year to get back into the paint, texture, color, and compositions without varying my subject too drastically. I now paint many different images, but always love to come back to my florals!

I love to garden. I'm not saying I'm great at it, but I love the physical process of planting, weeding, and watching the birds, butterflies, and bees enjoying your efforts. Thus far, I have avoided growing roses, however. And alas, I am now the proud owner of several lovely pink, red, and yellow rose bushes. This painting is inspired by this new collection and hobby. And for those of my collectors who love a pinkish hue to their art - here's your chance! I don't often paint with pink (not sure why) but this piece imbues a soft pink and beige antique quality. I hope you enjoy my Softly Spoken Garden!
