Landscapes done en plein aire.
Barn Island is a bird sanctuary in Stonington CT ; truly a beautiful place to paint.
I love to paint the changes in season and weather at Haley Farm in Noank, CT.
To capture the beauty of weather changes are at the heart of en plein aire painting. This piece was done at Haley Farm in Noank CT. The original is 10x20 and forsale at the Finer Line Gallery in Mystic CT.
A plein air painting done in a misty early morning light, on an old dirt road through farm land near where I live in Ledyard CT. The trees seem to me to form arches as in a church. And the fresh leaf colors as stained glass windows.
I painted this en plein air in early morning light. I love the colors of early spring; the freshness to everything...all is new.
Plein aire painting in the winter can be challenging. The temperature was 35 degrees but I was standing in the sun and didn't feel the cold to much. The paints got a little stiff though.
The breeze is kicking up. The sky is churning as the sun is trying to take hold of the day. I love being out painting on a day such as this. Haley Farm is the location.
A sunny afternoon walk at Haley Farm, being enjoyed by a mother and her little boy. This piece was painted en plein aire.
This painting was done en plein aire last Friday, Nov 12th, at the Geer farm in Ledyard, CT. I love the oranges against the blues of the sky.
I just finished this painting. It's a view from Haley Farm in Noank, CT., out toward Fishers Island and Long Island sound. I love the colors of morning light.
The sun is just beginning to rise. I've tried to capture the atmospherics of that time.
This was painted en plein air of one of the gardens on my land. I love to paint changing weather. The original painting is 24x36 and is on display at The Groton Bible Chapel in Groton,CT.
This was painted on an old farm in our area known as Haley Farm.
This marsh is next to Haley Farm in Noank,CT
This is downtown Wickford,RI. There are many early American buildings and homes in this village. It also has an active shipyard and small fishing fleet. I painted this 24x36 canvas en plein air. The original oil is still available. For the last couple of years the painting has been used for advertising purposes for the gallery I exhibit in, the Wickford Cove Framing Gallery. http://www.wickfordcoveframinggallery.com/
