I think it's a bit tough all over for artists right now with the economy still not back to normal. I'm hoping the ship gets righted soon. Painting seems like the easy part... getting them sold is not easy. People are holding on to their money. I get it. Never-the-less it seems like, for me at least, and I'm sure a lot of other artists feel the same way, I just want to paint. All the rest will get sorted through in due time. My best advice is to be relentless and always be extra critical of your work. Being good these days is like being average. I see lots of good people out there. I think an artist has to be really unique and special and show very strong work to stand out from the hundreds and hundred of good painters. No, it's not easy, but it is the goal.
